Sharna Beckman, a provocative content creator, earns six figures from her appearance.
However, she disclosed this week that ‘pretty privilege’ has its drawbacks. The 27-year-old, from Australia, flaunts long, blonde hair and resides in Queensland, living a beach-centric lifestyle in her bikini.
Despite affording a luxurious lifestyle and global travel through her looks, she acknowledges the significant challenges of being exceptionally attractive.
“I think the downside of being attractive is that you get a lot of jealousy, hate, and disrespect,” Sharna said. “People think that just because I’m pretty, I’m just some ‘dumb blonde’, or I’m a ‘sl*t’.
“I receive uncomfortable looks from women regularly. That’s just to name a few.”
“People think everything just gets handed to me and life is easier because I’m pretty, which is the biggest load of crap because I’ve definitely had my fair share of hardships in life.”
As the eldest of five siblings, Sharna acknowledges that her upbringing wasn’t the glamorous or privileged childhood people assume she had. Her father’s passing during her early childhood left her mother unable to work.
Sharna always harbored ambitions for a better life. Reflecting on her upbringing, she remarked: “I came from a very poor family.”
“I’ve always known that I did not want the life I grew up in, so I’ve always tried to better myself. My mum has always supported my decisions and is proud of the life I’ve made for myself.”
As a sociable individual who enjoys socializing, partying, and meeting new people, Sharna also grapples with the judgment of her appearance and the assumptions people make about her personality before even engaging in conversation with her.
“I’ve had comments from people saying, ‘I thought you were a b*tch before I met you’, and ‘You’re actually totally different than what I thought’. I think as an attractive woman, people tend to pick out flaws and have a lot of assumptions about me.
“I feel like I am fighting against so many incorrect assumptions before I even get the chance to really chat to someone.”
Despite the challenges associated with being conventionally attractive by society’s standards, there’s no denying the existence of pretty privilege – whether individuals acknowledge it or not.
“Pretty privilege is 100% a thing,” shared OnlyFans star Sharna. “I’ve had things like drinks bought for me from someone on the other side of the bar, my whole bill paid for at a restaurant, skipping the line and getting let into clubs with huge line ups.
“There’s also been invites to VIP booths at clubs, being brought backstage with Post Malone, offered to be flown overseas all inclusive, and I’ve had experiences overseas where people just want to take pictures with me.”
The remarks comes after an incident in February where Sharna made news after discovering that her cousin had purchased her provocative OnlyFans content.
