Camila Cabello has recently opened up about her evolving perspective on criticism and how she now embraces her own musical journey, regardless of public opinion. In an interview with Billboard on May 29, the talented songstress, currently promoting her upcoming album “C, XOXO,” shared her newfound sense of peace with the reactions to her music.

Reflecting on her early career, the “Bam Bam” singer admitted that negative feedback used to affect her deeply. “When I was starting out, I wish I knew that not everybody is going to like me, and it has nothing to do with me,” the 27-year-old recalled. “That affected me a lot in the beginning. When you’re that young, all you want is acceptance and love, and you can’t understand when people don’t like you.”

However, over the past 12 years, Cabello has learned to detach from the criticism that once hurt her. “I’ve realized that people’s reactions have nothing to do with you,” she explained. “I’m way more at peace with it today.”

Beyond addressing her personal growth, Cabello also shared insights into her new album. “To me, it’s about going out more, going to more parties, and just being a bit more fearless and rebellious,” she said. “Before, I would go out and not care about what I looked like. If I felt kind of ugly, it was whatever — but now, I always want to feel pretty for myself.”

 

Cabello emphasized that her new music is about truly enjoying life. “It’s about really enjoying life, and I always think to myself, that’s what sensuality is all about. It’s a sensory thing: enjoying the food you eat, enjoying putting on a few outfits in the mirror, enjoying the senses of being alive. It’s about taking in that baddie energy.”

With “C, XOXO” set to release on June 28, featuring collaborations with artists like Drake, Lil Nas X, and City Girls, fans are eagerly anticipating this new chapter in her musical career.
